CSHS Annual meeting & program-2026

The Cherokee Strip Historical Society is pleased to invite our members and the community to join us for our annual meeting, meal, and program, featuring up close historical accounts of the Rough Riders—Theodore Roosevelt’s Volunteer Cavalry in the Spanish-American War.

This years program will be presented by historian and expert Jay Eby. A Perry native, Jay later moved to Arizona, where he founded a Rough Riders reenactment group and went on to participate in a special reenactment segment featured on the History Channel. His firsthand knowledge and engaging storytelling bring this iconic chapter of American history to life.

In addition, we will have copies of The Oklahoma Rough Riders, co-written by longtime CSHS lifetime member Albert Stehno, available for purchase.
